With diversity in language, ethnicity and people – here’s how it came together…
Take five congregations – 8am, 9.30am and Lifestreams, Tongan, and Mar Thoma – and our English class students.
Mix them together in one big combined multicultural service, with over 200 people.
Ensure different languages are spoken, and heard – English, Māori, Tongan, Malayalam, Mandarin, Malay.
Allow space for spontaneous singing by the Tongan choir.
Put in 24 tamariki weaving the joys of diversity.
Finish with a standing ovation of thanks to those (namely Olive, with Wendy and Elizabeth) who had a dream ten years ago to have an English language class in the parish.
