At both a combined morning service and a full Evensong, we celebrated 150 years of our parish.
Our three morning congregations came together at 10am for a service to celebrate 150 years. Bringing in liturgy from both the Book of Common Prayer and the New Zealand Prayer Book, four clergy, hymns old and new, our choir and band, our organ and even two trumpets, our parishioners had hearts full of joy.
Later that same day, Evensong also gave a reflective end to our celebratory weekend, once again with the choir, led by Robert Aburn as cantor, with Denis on the organ and Rev’d Kay presiding. It was followed by a delicious Evensupper prepared by Corinne Haines and Margaret Harper.
Our thanks to all for your part in these services and songs of praise.
