We are delighted to welcome Robert Aburn to the St Barnabas team.
Robert writes:
I am very much looking forward to joining the St Barnabas Church community and in bringing my collective musical experiences to the Church. Having had the pleasure of long-standing musical leadership within both Anglican Church and school communities, I believe in promoting active congregational participation and involvement that strengthens both the liturgy and spoken word.
Throughout my time I have served as an organist, accompanying services, directing choirs, and planning music that is aligned to the liturgical year. I have led high-performing chapel choirs, upheld strong musical standards, and contributed to a vibrant worship life through both traditional and contemporary repertoire. Until the end of term one 2025, I had spent the last 23 years as Director of Music and Assistant Principal at Christ’s College. Prior to this I was Director of Music at Rangi Ruru Girls’ School.
