We are delighted to share our Mission Action Plan for our parish adopted at our recent AGM, on April 10th.
Our Mission Action Plan is our documenting of prayerful discernment conversations by this faith community of where and how we’re called to participate in God’s mission.
This draft plan has been developed over the last several months in close consultation with staff, vestry, the Parish Strategy Team, and those parishioners who have attended the Leading your Church into Growth conferences in 2022 and 2023.
In drafting this plan, we have sought to ‘bat down the middle of the pitch’ – not so little change that it won’t be noticed and not so much that people won’t come along with us. We have gone for simplicity and brevity over complexity and length – partly so that it’s easily remembered and quickly grasped. Some of this plan will be familiar and some will be new. This is a plan that may initiate growth and change; it isn’t the final outcome. We will review as we go, and especially after 12 months. We have given this plan a five-year time frame and while not everything in here will be done immediately, it does signal a direction of travel.
We welcome your feedback, which you can direct through to Rev Dr Andrew Butcher, preferably by email, to andrew@stbarnabas.org.nz
