There are many people who go into making an ordination such a success.
My thanks, first, to Jenny, for pulling together a very well received ordination service, neatly balancing the diversity of us ordinands and our parishes. To the Lifestreams Band of Andy, Liz, Nigel and Becky for leading us in such great worship, and especially to Liz for premiering her new song ‘Holy Waters’. To Hanan and Braden for arranging the sound, including literally doing the heavy lifting of the Lifestreams sound desk! To the choir of St Michael and All Angels, featuring our very own Wayne, for their great choral contribution. To Yvette, for ‘vesting’ me with my stole (and adjusting it appropriately). To Corinne, Wendy and Maryann for organising the splendid morning tea. To Bosco, for leading us on a prayer-full retreat and delivering the sermon. To Bishop Peter for his pre-ordination training (and the post-ordination training to come!) To Chris at the Transitional Cathedral for accommodating our requirements. To Wendy and Jenny for ‘presenting’ me to the Bishop. To my fellow ordinands Simon, Gabrielle and Steven, for sharing in this common part of our journey of faith. And to the many from this parish who attended, from across every one of our services and, along with the parishes of Lincoln and St Michael and All Angels, filled the Cathedral with song and Spirit. Yvette and I are very grateful for your support, encouragement and friendship, and feel deeply privileged and humbled to be part of St Barnabas with you.
