Dr. Andrew Butcher was commissioned on Friday 27th January at St Barnabas Fendalton.
Many parishioners and supporters of the Butchers were at St Barnabas to be part of the commissioning of Dr. Andrew Butcher as the Senior Associate Lay Minister on Friday night. Dr. James Arkwright, Acting Principal of Bethlehem Tertiary Institute, and a colleague of Andrew’s, spoke about Andrew and what he was like at BTI, sang his praises, and said how much they will miss them both. It was lovely to have both Yvette’s mum and Andrew’s mum each offer a reading, Yvette’s mum in Cantonese. The Butchers were welcomed also by some of the local clergy and leaders of parish groups, and we enjoyed supper in the hall afterward.
I am sure that you will get to meet them at the services and events that we have on in the parish. Do introduce yourself to them and don’t forget to wear your name badge to help with gluing names onto faces! Thank you.
