Plan to come along to 4 workshop sessions in March as we listen, learn, discuss how we engage as Christians with te ao maori.
What? Bicultural Workshops are being held in our parish with the support of Pīhopa Richard Wallace, open to all.
When? 4 consecutive Mondays, 7.00pm to 9.30 pm, commencing March 13 to April 3. Please aim to attend all 4 sessions if you possibly can.
Where? St Barnabas Hall, 8 Tui St, Fendalton.
Cost? $40.00. Please contact us if cost is a problem, as we may be able to help.
What about? Themes will include: Māori world views; The Treaty of Waitangi; colonialisation; Christian responses to the covenant nature of Te Tiriti, telling our stories and learning local stories and histories.
Tutor Anthony Nihoniho, of Ngāi Tahu and Ngāti Porou descent, lectures at Canterbury University and Christian settings e.g. Laidlaw College, and has undertaken research in local bicultural history. All welcome.
