This week some of our nonagenarians enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea and sing-along.
We were blessed to have both Rev Jenny & Rev John as our musicians, with Jenny on the piano and John on his guitar and trumpet. We sang some old-time favourites such as White Cliffs of Dover, Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory, We’ll Meet Again, and we ended with God Save the King. We laid out the fine china and enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea, thanks to Corinne and her team. It was lovely to see old friends reuniting who hadn’t seen each other for a long time. Those who came said how much they enjoyed it. Thanks to those who helped with picking up some of our nonagenarians, and to everyone who came and helped make it such a special afternoon. (Ed: Thanks also to Jo Cotton for her excellent organisational skills for this event, and also the special touches in the beautiful invitations and the special Bible verse card for each person.)
