SBYG on Friday Nights

Each Friday night during the term our junior and senior youth groups get together for a feed, some good times, deep and meaningfuls and some good ol' fashioned he karakia e te pō. Currently our junior youth group caters to school years 7-9 while our senior youth group is for those year 10+. Both groups kick off at 7pm and the night wraps up no later than 9pm.
Feel free to drop by or, for further information, contact our youth minister (Harry) on (03) 351 7064 or harry@stbarnabas.org.nz. You could always check out our Facebook page too for up to date information!

SBYG Camps

At SBYG we love camps! So much so that we've been to 12 camps since Easter 2015! Here are a few pics of what we've got up to recently...

SBYG on Sunday Mornings

On Sundays during our Sunday morning service 'Lifestreams' (9.30am) we have 'The Revs' – a great chance for young people to get together and dig deeper into the Bible and ask the hard questions.
Feel free to drop by or, for further information, contact our youth minister (Harry) on (03) 351 7064 or harry@stbarnabas.org.nz.

Leadership Development

At SBYG we believe young people are awesome and we want to see them flourish to the best of their God given ability! Part of seeing young people flourish is encouraging, equipping, and investing in those who show particular leadership potential.
Currently we have three young people who are involved with 'The Kiln,' a leadership development initiative hosted by the Anglican Diocese of Christchurch. For the past three years we have taken a small group of young people to 'The Abbey' which is a conference hosted by te Hahi Mihinare ki Aotearoa ki Niu Tireni, ki Nga Moutere o te Moana Nui a Kiwa. We also invest heavily in mentoring and run two leadership development retreats a year for our youth leadership team and young leaders. On top of all this we occasionally seek out additional opportunities for our young people to gain further valuable leadership formation and experience.
