Thank you to everyone who participated in this morning's sharing and visioning for Lifestreams. I was greatly encouraged by the enthusiasm and conversation both during and after the worship. While I realise there are natural limits to what can be shared in the framework of such meetings, I believe we covered some good ground and I look forward to reflecting on the very wide array of insights shared on the post-it notes.

As I shared last week, our family has planned to take 10 days annual leave this week and we shall return on the 12th August. There are several important things I would like to let you know in the meantime.

We have just learned that our Priest in Charge, the Revd Alister Hendery, has been reappointed by Bishop Victoria to other responsibilities in the Diocese. This week therefore was
Alister's final week in our Parish. I am very sad to see Alister leave, he has been a great support and a friend to many of us over the past months. Can I please ask for your prayers for Alister and also for staff, wardens, vestry and clergy as we reallocate responsibilities without a Priest in Charge and with a reduced clergy team. Pray also for our young people who are facing the approaching reality of Paul's departure in September.

Worship times will continue as usual for Lifestreams and other congregations. Please encourage one another by continuing to gather together and be strengthened through our worship of the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Next Sunday will kick off the first of three talks on stewardship; Time, Treasures and Talents. I will be with you all again on Sunday the 15th August for the second of these talks. As you will be aware from The Mooring Post, these talks are part of the parish's Stewardship campaign.

I also encourage you all to participate in the week of prayer as advertised in the pew sheets this morning. This will begin with a special time of song and prayer at St Barnabas' on Saturday 14th August at 5.00pm.

As I am away I will be unable to send out the Lifestreams' e-news for the next week, please rely on your rosters if you serve during worship in any way. And finally may I leave you with some words written by St Paul to the church in Philippi:

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7

God bless you all.

With love and affection,

Andrew
