Welcome to spring and the hope of warmer days to come!

This Sunday is Father's Day and we require two volunteers to assist with communion. Are there any fellows who would like to help me at communion time? If you're not a fellow and would like to help let me know anyway - just in case. (Please let me know by email or phone 0212014798, if you are able to help).

MISSION MONTH
September is MISSION MONTH so we'll be focusing on the mission of the church; in particular overseas mission but also local.

Over the month we'll be promoting Anglican Missions with a colouring competition for children and a display to encourage people to find out more about what the Anglican Missions Board does. Check this link for more info: ANGLICAN MISSIONS WEBSITE

We're also promoting Operation Christmas Child; an opportunity to send gifts to families in more impoverished parts of the world.

Has anyone been on an overseas mission with the church? If you have and would you like to share your experiences please let me know; we'd love to hear some stories.

Back to Church Sunday

If you haven't already, remember to grab a BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY invitation card. Each card comes in two halves. On one half you can invite a friend to church on 12 September. The other half is a prayer card by which to remember to pray for the person you have invited. Inviting someone is great, but praying as well is even better. In the final count we pray that people would be brought into a refreshing relationship with God rather than join a church in the same way that one would join a club!

This Sunday - All Age Worship and Father's Day!

Gospel Reading: Mark 6:6-13

6 Then he went about among the villages teaching. 7 He called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. 8 He ordered them to take nothing for their journey except a staff; no bread, no bag, no money in their belts; 9 but to wear sandals and not to put on two tunics. 10 He said to them, "Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave the place. 11 If any place will not welcome you and they refuse to hear you, as you leave, shake off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them." 12 So they went out and proclaimed that all should repent. 13 They cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.
