Youth Group 2010

Never been to Youth Group before, not sure what to expect? Hey, we don't always know what to expect either! We reckon the best way to find out what's happening is to come along on Friday Nights and get to know us.

Angels (Ages 10-14):

Where- Church hall unless told otherwise

When - Fridays 7.00pm-8.30pm

B.A.I.T. (Ages 14-18):

Where - Gather to catch up the Youth Room upstairs, then down in the Church hall (unless told otherwise)

When - Fridays 8.00pm-10.00pm

What - Both youth groups are a place for games, hanging out and building friendships. They’re also a chance to study some of the bible and ask any of those questions that are on your mind. We are a Christian youth group and base many of our thoughts on the bible but there is no expectation or demand put on people to be or think like Christians. We believe if we respect each other and all get a chance to speak and to listen to each other, everything will be pretty groovy.

We have regular socials, camps and holiday “get togethers”. If you have any ideas (for socials etc) or questions please let us know.

Jethro and Jessie

Jethro and Jessie have taken over running Friday Night Youth Group. They also lead a fantastic bible study group at Lifestreams on Sunday morning.

SUNDAYS @ 10 o’clock

During our two 10 o’clock services:

  • Sung Eucharist in St Barnabas Church &
  • lifestreams in St Barnabas Church Hall

Bible Bashers (School Years 8-13)
A discussion group for High School students exploring what the Bible teaches and how it can be applied today.

All children & young people begin worshipping in one of our 10 o’clock services – Sung Eucharist in the Church or lifestreams in the Church hall – and then leave to join their group. Each group returns towards the end of the service to receive Holy Communion.

FRIDAY YOUTH GROUPS

Youth Groups meet during school term time.
  • 7.00pm to 8.30pm - Barney’s Angels (Years 10-14)
  • 8.00pm to 10pm - BAIT ( Years 14-18)

Both groups meet in the St Barnabas Church Hall
Absolutely excellent groups!
A fun and safe place for young people. Games, craft and an opportunity to discover Jesus and his teaching - how it applies today. “The best thing since Buzz Lightyear"

Thursday Space

Sometimes we just want to go deeper don't we? That's something we encourage at St Barnabas and that is why Thursday Space is the place for you...come along to explore the Bible and what it means for us to follow Jesus today. Great company and conversation.
  • 7.00pm-9.00pm Thursday during term time in Youth Room (Years 15-18)
Hey, did I mention it is groovy too?

Thanks to our website host Acclipse, a variety of talented photographers, especially Adrien Borrie, and Glen Hume for filming the St Barnabas dvd
