Music and movement and lots of cuddles at Mainly Music!

Mainly Music

Mainly Music is a fun program for parents/primary caregivers and preschoolers (ages 0-5) to enjoy music and movement together. Mainly Music also provides opportunities to nurture the relationship between parent/caregiver and their children, to celebrate the important role of being a parent/caregiver, and to develop friendships with other adults in the same life stage. Mainly Music was founded in 1990 here in New Zealand and is now popular throughout Europe and the US.

Each session includes 30 minutes of music, rhyme, movement, listening and more... finger puppets, balls, parachutes, instruments, etc. After the music portion of the morning, children are given a snack and adults are treated to a special coffee/tea break. Snack time is followed by a short toy time, where the children free play in the same room, allowing the adults to continue to talk with one another. The music session lasts for about half an hour and morning tea and chat about another 30 minutes.

Contact Pip Chamberlain by emailing mark-pip@xtra.co.nz if you would like to register your interest in joining this group.
